Your Prom Limo Guide

Prom FAQ

Why should we get a limo for prom?
You mean other than not wanting your parents to drive? There are lots of great reasons to get a limo over simply driving to the prom. For one thing, prom is one of the few times you have the chance to ride in a limo with your friends, and it’s a ton of fun. Having someone else drive is safer for everyone too.

How much does it cost?
That depends on how many hours you’ll be out (remember, you need to pay for the hours the limo is waiting while you’re at dinner and the prom) and how many people are riding. Be sure to get a firm headcount before you start looking. The good news is that if you decide to split the cost among everyone the amount is pretty reasonable.

Should I just get the cheapest limo available?
It’s tempting to just find the cheapest limo you can. However, do your homework on the company. It could be that price for a reason – like that the car is old and cruddy, or the company is shady. Reviews are your friend!

How big a limo do I need?
The size limo you need depends on how many people are coming. Some stretches hold 8 people, some hold 10 or more, so make sure you know what you’re getting.

How do I know which company to go with?
Reviews, Reviews, Reviews! Lucky for you, has them right there up front.

When should I reserve?
Now’s the time to find your limo for prom! Depending on where you live, operators book up fast, and the best vehicles go first. Better get it together soon (at least a month before) or you might get stuck with a passenger van.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you’re the one paying for the limo, make sure to ask the limo company what’s not allowed in the vehicle, and make sure everyone knows. If there are damages or any extra charges, you’re the one who’s responsible.

  • Did you and your friends go for big, poofy prom dresses? Add another 2 passengers to your total when you search, to make sure there’s enough room.

  • Make a playlist for the limo! Many limos do have ipod hookups now but burn it to CD, just in case.
