"We recently used Limos.com to book a limo for a night on the town in the Hudson Valley in NY. We obtained on-line quotes from your site, and received a quote of $244 from SilverShielf Limousine and Transportation Company in Patterson, NY (for 4 hours). We talked to a respresentative at the company, and she honored the quote over the phone. When we called back to book the next day, the Owner (Bill) indicated that we should have never been quoted at that price, and that the best he could do was $300. Having already finalized plans with the other parties involved, we attempted to get him to honor the web and verbal quotes - to no avail. I then offered to "split the difference" with him even though it was their supposed mistake, and he still wouldn't budge. The final straw was when he told me that "mistakes happen - that's why pecils have erasers." While I agree that everyone has the right to charge whatever they want for service, I thought his business ethic and customer service were very poor. I also thought that his placing all of the blame of his employee was poor business practice. I was raised by a small business owner who has had a succesful business for over 50 years. I can say, with certainty, that SilverSheids approach isn't the way to get or maintain a solid customer base. We booked with someone else at $270. Very disappointing and time wasting experience."
