"We booked California Sweet Rides to drive my wedding party to and from my wedding. I had them arrive 30 min early in case of traffic delays, but they arrived at 4:30 as agreed. We wanted to leave no later than 5:10. The driver had left the car running in the 100 degree heat, and to my knowledge had not once checked to see when we would be ready to leave. We ended up leaving at 5:30 (20 min late) Right after we left, the car over heated and smoke poured out of the engine. A loose wire had caused the cooling fan to stop working. Although this was a very unfortunate occurrence, these rare things do happen... and I want it very clear that this is NOT why I am upset with this company. I am upset with how the situation was handled by both driver and management. We told the driver to pull over, but she kept going. We asked if they had another car to send, but all she said was "I don’t know." She didn't call to check. A woman from another car got out in traffic at a red light and screamed at our driver to pull over, but she didn't. We then started yelling at her to pull over, but still she wouldn't listen. The driver then proceeded to get on the freeway right after we had specifically told her not to, and drove 20 mph in the slow lane before taking the next exit and finally pulling over. We called for our family to come get us, as the driver finally called for another limo. She said it would take an hour. We could have called our family to meet us sooner, but the driver insisted she would get us there. With this ordeal, we ended up being 1 hour late to the wedding, if we had waited for the other limo it would have been 2. Everyone we talked to said that we should get comped somehow. When my mom talked to the manager, Rob, he acted like it was not their fault we were so late. He only defended his driver instead of hearing out our story. My mom said that he needed to do something. He said... and I quote... "You already got the first half for free.. what else do you want from me?!" Really?! ...they didn’t do anything the 1st half; of course we wouldn’t pay for it. The biggest thing that bothered me was that my mom had to convince him that he had to do something. She explained to him that his company is a joke here at our wedding, and that they should either do the last 4 hours for free or a discounted trip on another day. Robs only answer was, "Why?" Not once did we get something like, I'm so sorry this happened... or ... unfortunately I have to cover costs, I wish there was something I could do. That would have helped. My mom finally got Rob to cut $20 per hour off the rate to keep him from charging her the full amount on her credit card. I talked to him after the fact to try and get a better apology. He insisted we weren't stuck on the side of the road for very long (because we got our family to get us) and that his level of customer service was perfectly fine. I heard today that a good friend of mine had a similar problem with this company's inexperienced drivers and poor customer service. Stay away from this company."
Limo Service Response: "We were horrified by the fact that a mechanical error occured on this very speical day. Our cars have maintenance records in each vehicle and it was beyond our control. We asked our driver NOT to stop on the freeway to let our the bride and her party for her safety. Our very experienced driver exited the next available opportunity and stopped @ a gas station, where we were then contacted by the MOTHER of the bride, not Mrs. Tina Brandon. When the conversation was complete both parties were satisfied with the solution. A week after this incident we recieved a very disturbing call from the bride. She demanded we offer her free service WHENEVER they wanted it. IF OUR SERVICE WAS SO BAD WHY DO THEY WANT FREE TIME IN OUR VEHICLES AGAIN? We went above and beyond to solve this in a happy manner. We offered 6 free hours and did not charge them for the 3 hours they went over as we hauled extra people and turned the new vehicle into a uhaul after the reception. We apologized profusely, had a replacement car on stand by and did not once complain when the wedding party continued to tell Niela, our driver, they were going to be right out, and that was 1 and 1/2 hour after the scheduled pick up. The car was left on so the bride would not be over heated. I hope this clears up some confusion and this slanderous complaint came after a free charter and we feel this is to recieve more @ no cost.
